aloy was outcast at birth, meaning she could not live within tribe's villages and could not speak or interact with anyone from the tribe. though her father rost abided by this rule, aloy did not. even still, the amount of people who were willing to speak to her were few and far between; leaving her social interactions to rost, herself and the occasional merchant. often times, aloy can be caught talking to herself or thinking out loud - a habit borne of these minimal interactions. she is also very quick to distrust authority, bearing much resentment for those who outcast her as an infant, which was entirely unprecedented for the tribe's already strict customs.her entire life has been spent fighting back: against nature, against authority, against expectations. aloy is just as quick to say no as she is to say yes, for whatever reason. when her mind is made on a subject, she does not deter from the path she has set.being quick to speak her mind and lacking in social practice in general, most consider aloy to be quite brash and rude. often times she speaks without thinking or says whatever is on her mind. though her retorts are usually very quick witted and humorous, her sharp tongue tends to win her no favors.aloy wants results and she wants them immediately. her impatience was something she had always struggled with, much to rost's dismay. she is able to contain herself while on a hunt, keeping quiet and steady while she waits to take the killing blow - though sometimes still muttering to herself. but when it comes to investigating or more social matters, aloy much prefers instant gratification.⠀moral alignment⠀⠀ chaotic good.

Aloy. Machine Hunter. Seeker of the Nora. Though she has gone by many names, there is no one else quite like her. Aloy was outcast at birth, the first in her tribe to ever have this misfortune as it's a punishment reserved usually for criminals with a subsequent timeframe upon which they might return to the tribe after the sentence has been served. Aloy's crime: being born in the first place, and her sentence: for life. Being outcast meant total and complete isolation from the tribe and society as a whole. Found as a newborn outside the doors of the sacred Heart of the Mountain, the High Matriarchs claimed her to be a bad omen, a spawn of the Metal Devil who sat frozen in time on the other side of the door. All but one Matriarch, that is. Given to the outcast Rost to raise, Aloy led a lonely and unforgiving childhood; one that would shape her completely into the person she is now.It would take Aloy years of yearning for an answer to the mystery of her birth to finally lead her to the story of the Zero Dawn Project: the last ditch effort of earth's previous civilization to fight back against the hyper-advanced machine threat which was quickly consuming all organic life on the planet. Here she discovered that she was in fact a clone of the project's developer, Elizabet Sobek, grown by the terraforming ai, gaia to stop the system's failsafe function when threatened to eliminate life on earth once again.Headstrong and resilient, Aloy never gives up without a fight, no matter what the fight might be. powers and abilities.

focus aloy's focus is an accessory created for the apollo program that is always attached to her body, right above her ear. it works as a network communication device, both storing and receiving messages, but also allows her to, as others describe it, "see the unseen". she understands this gives her the ability to obtain background information, such as tracks, weak points on machinery, and even nearby lifeforms. focus networks can be linked and entire databases of information can be shared between them.spear handcrafted by aloy herself, her spear is a crude extension of the huntress. attached to the end of it is the override core which previously allowed her to override unsuspecting machines. the spear is her preferred method of hunting when stealth is key.master archer aloy's bow is practically a piece of her identity; though she's used many different kinds, all with different attributes, she wouldn't be caught dead without one. often adorned with feathers, beads and fabric from the tribe she received the bow from, each one is as unique and powerful as she, allowing her the freedom to craft various types of arrows as her ammunition.alpha access Being a clone of Elisabet Sobeck, Aloy has the maximum genetic clearance for all Zero Dawn facilities. This allows her to use the Master Override, as well as access any GAIA facilities that require Alpha clearance. She later gains access to Omega Clearance, which previously belonged only to Ted Faro.

Following the events of the first game, aloy has spent her life training to compete in the proving in order to be embraced by the tribe that has outcast her and be granted a boon with which she might learn the fate of her mother and where she came from. when the proving is attacked by the eclipse, a cult with the power to awaken the old world faro robots who are led by the rogue AI HADES, who intend on killing her because of her striking resemblance to the old world scientist elizabet sobeck, she is forced down a different path entirely: one that does lead her to the answers she seeks and so much more. in her journey to take down the eclipse, she uncovers information about the zero dawn project and the grim end that the earth had faced once before and was threatened to face once again.

the eclipse have been defeated but the day has not been saved. setting out to find any backups of the GAIA terraforming system created by the zero dawn project aloy learns that time to save the earth from environmental collapse is running shorter than she realized. finally successful in bringing gaia back online, aloy begins a hunt across the forbidden west to find gaia's lost subordinate functions and return them to her. all while running from mysterious travelers from the stars who have returned to earth to claim it as their own.

aloy and her adoptive father have lived a quiet and simple life north of valentine, settled into a cabin at cattail pond; that was until a mysterious stranger appeared at their campfire on their last hunting trip. though the two offered the man respite at their camp, he would return the favor by killing her father in cold blood. the man having made his escape, aloy has tried to take the issue up with valentine's sheriff to no avail. the trail is beginning to run cold but she won't give up, and she won't turn away help wherever she can take it.
